Jay hat hellblonde Haare, die ihm ständig irgendwie in die Stirn rutschen und seine Sicht stören. Sobald man seine Haare etwas genauer betrachtet, denkt man, so etwas wie eine Bürste oder einen Kamm habe er noch nie gesehen. Jays Gesicht ist länglich mit einer ovalen Grundform und einem spitzen Kinn. Er hat einen schmallippigen Mund, der immer leicht zu lächeln scheint. Seine Nase ist lang und gerade, während seine Augen schmal, Mandel förmig und leicht schräg sind. Ihre Farbe ist ein seltsam helles Grün, dass, wenn man zu lange hinein guckt, leicht hypnotisierend wirkt. Jay ist einen Meter und siebzig Zentimeter groß, schlank, aber keineswegs dünn, sondern eher durchtrainiert und er wäre auch gerne größer. Grundsätzlich trägt er Jacketts mit irgendwelchen T-Shirts darunter und verwaschene Jeans, die meistens mehr kosten, als ein durchschnittlicher Schotte im Jahr verdient. Nun ja, fast zumindest.
Mit einem eindeutig überheblichen Grinsen ließ sich Jay auf seinen geliebten Schreibtischstuhl sinken. Das schwarze, weiche Leder und die weiche Füllung darunter passten sich automatisch seinem Rücken an und er drückte auf den Einschaltknopf seines Computers, damit dieser das System startete.
Soso, dachte er grinsend und mit hoch gezogenen Augenbrauen, als, kaum war der PC einsatzbereit, ein orange blickendes Briefumschlag-Icon auftauchte, Wer hat es wohl so eilig, mit mir zu reden? Eilig deswegen, weil es gerade einmal neun Uhr am Morgen war und Jay seine E-Mails erst um drei Uhr das letzte Mal abgerufen hatte.
Das kleine Briefumschlag-Icon blinkte mitten auf dem Bildschirm vor sich hin, als wolle es unbedingt die Aufmerksamkeit des Nutzers auf sich lenken, was vermutlich auch der Fall war, denn sonst würde es ja nicht blicken.
Jay klickte das Icon an und ein großes Fenster bedeckte im Nu den ganzen Bildschirm. Eine E-Mail öffnete sich und sofort fasste Jay den Absender ins Auge: "Artemis Fowl II."
Mit hoch gezogenen Augenbrauen überflog Jay den Text- "Artemis Fowl II", wollte offenbar etwas von ihm haben. Etwas, was Jay augenblicklich das Gesicht verziehen ließ. Artemis -nebenbei bemerkt schüchterte weder der Vor- noch der Nachname Jay sonderlich ein- wollte sich mit ihm treffen, wieso auch immer.
Anscheinend ging es um etwas wichtiges- "Etwas, von dem du wahrscheinlich denkst, es würde nur in Märchen vorkommen", zitierte Jay und grinste bei dieser komischen E-Mail, die augenblicklich seine Neugier weckte, "Der Elfendieb existiert."
Falls Artemis geglaubt hatte, diese Tatsache würde Jay, der übrigens selbst eine beachtliche Anzahl an kriminellen Taten verursacht hatte aus allen Wolken fallen lassen und ihm Herzattacken vor purer Freude bescheren, so hatte er sich geirrt, denn solche Trophäen hatten Jay noch nie interessiert.
Mit einem gefährlichen Grinsen im Gesicht begann Jay damit eine Antwort zu tippen.
"Lieber Artemis", begann er und während er schrieb, murmelte er die Wort halblaut vor sich hin, "Daran habe ich kein Interesse- wieso auch immer du zu dieser Annahme gekommen bist, es ist nicht so. Ich interessiere mich für ganz andere Märchen.
Im Moment sind es Unterirdische."
Von dem Gesicht das "Artemis Fowl II" dann machen würde, sollte man ein Foto machen, dachte der Blonde und legte die Fingerspitzen an einander, während er nachdachte. Vielleicht sollte er sich doch mit Arty treffen.
Ein Treffen unter Kriminellen würde sicherlich lustig werden.
