Eoin Colfer stellt sich vor

Mein Name ist Eoin (wird Owen ausgesprochen) Colfer. Wer es noch nicht weiß: Ich bin der Autor der Artemis-Fowl-Bücher und schreibe meine Geschichten in Irland. Denn dort lebe ich mit meiner Frau und unseren zwei Kindern.
Bevor ich als Schriftsteller erfolgreich wurde, war ich Lehrer und habe mehrere Jahre in Saudi-Arabien, Tunesien und Italien unterrichtet. Der Gewinn des "Children's Book Award" für mein Werk (das ist nämlich der wichtigste Kinder- und Jugendbuchpreis Englands) hat mich mit Stolz erfüllt. Und: Ich werde Bücher schreiben, bis Menschen aufhören zu lesen oder mir die Ideen ausgehen. Hoffentlich tritt keins von beidem jemals ein!
Deshalb freue ich mich auch riesig über das Erscheinen des neuen Bandes der Artemis-Fowl-Serie in Deutschland. Und natürlich über das tolle Fan-Magazin! Deshalb hier noch ein Tipp von mir an Euch, wenn Ihr vorhabt, Autoren zu werden: Übung ist das A und O - schreibt jeden Tag, und wenn es nur zehn Minuten sind. Denkt dran, nichts ist vergebens. Irgendwann werdet Ihre Euren Stil finden. Bleibt am Ball.

Dear Eoin since i have read the first book of artemis I can say this is my favorite book... but I have one ask to the 1st book where buttler and holly in fowl manor were and the troll hurled holly against the wall in such a way which she swooning became… why is she not disappeared… (because the time stop was already developed)... Dear Eoin, I really love the way you write, the sarcastic stuff: That´s exactly the wa I like books. Yuo know I read Fletscher Moon without knowing that you wrote it and after the first 5 pages I said to myself, "Do you know what, heckely? This is a great writing style, and sure is simular to the writing style in Artemis fowl!", so I checked who wrote the book. And I wasn´t very surprised when I saw that you wrote it, because I´ve never read any book, that had that sarcastic undertone, and I have read tons of books, there are hardly any library books for people in my age, that I haven´t read yet. So just keep on writing, I can´t wait for more books. Yours, heckely

He'll never read this, will he? Well, in case you do, Eoin, I've been to your readings TWICE and don't regret it. You're really funny and REALLY small. You're a wonderful storyteller and I always wish you were my uncle. My very own storyteller I love Artemis still. As a person. Even if I'm too old for the books and they don't really interests me anymore. Artemis is fantastic. I envy you for your creativity. So much. Clair de lune - parlez-vous francais?

Dear Eoin Colfer, I love your Artemis Fowl Books and all the other Books of you translated in German. I already booked tickets for your reading on my birthday. I'll come to Cologne. I hope you will autograph my Artemis Books (at least the Hardcovers, otherwise it takes too much time :) I hope for a new great book and an exciting gnomic text. Yours Christian
